4-Stroke Outboards
 CAUTION: Four-stroke Tohatsu and Nissan outboards DO NOT come with engine oil already installed. You must add engine oil before attempting to start your four-stroke outboard for the first time. Failure to do so will result in extensive damage to your outboard. For more info see 4-stroke oil type and capacity.

Following the recommended break-in schedule will prolong the life of your new outboard and ensure optimum performance. RPM's should be varied throughout the break-in period without exceeding the maximum RPM limits as shown. We recommend that break-in be performed on the boat (under a proper load). For detailed information on the break-in procedure, please consult your owner's manual.

TLDI models are direct fuel injection 2-strokes (no carburetors), therefore, break-in procedures will vary from a standard carbureted 2-stroke outboard.
